House of Legos

My favourite Lego activity was building cars because we got to work in a group and got to create a car and then test it to see how long it goes then we tested to see how far it goes and mine and bronson went the furthest down the ramp.

My least favourite Lego activity was the one in koupeka where we passed on our creations  because when i passed mine on  i saw it get ruined and people changed it to not what i wanted it to be.

The activity that tested my perseverance the most was car making because we had to keep testing the car and then modifying it and then testing it again. 

The most challenging activity was the identical mats because I tried to make all the four side identacy and it was hard.

I enjoyed working collaboratively with others because they had good ideas and techniques on how to make our lego better.

How to be a good Team Member

 This week for Writing we needed to write about how to be a good team member. In our text we had to include a title, a introduction, main body with all our ideas and a summery. Here is my Writing.

To be a good team member you need to communicate and listen to the other players in the team because if they have a good idea for the team you can use it to help win the game.

You need to pass to the other players so if they are in space or are good at the game they could have a chance of scoring. If they don’t get the ball much they will feel left out of the team.

If the other team scores a try or a point, congratulate them because it will make them feel better and it is good to celebrate if someone scores even if it is not your team.

 If your team loses, don't be sad and get angry just as long as you try your best. If your team loses it is ok because if you tried your hardest it is the best you can do. If you lose it doesn't mean that you're not good, it just means that the other team played better and that's ok.

 

So for a summary you need to have a good attitude if you win or lose. You need to communicate with the other players. You also need to congratulate the other team and shake hands if they win or lose.

My Hobbies

 Welcome back to my blog. this week for reading I had to create a poster or a google doc about my hobbies. A hobbies is something that you don't have to be good at for it to be fun its just something that make you happy. My hobbies are rugby, basketball and gaming and here's why.

There should be not be a school dress code

This is my writing for this week. We had to create a argument about if there should be a school dress code or not. I believe that there shouldn't be a school dress code and here's why.

How would it be if you can wear whatever you want to school?

I believe that there should not be a school dress code. The uniforms at our school are really pricey and some people might not have enough money for the uniform but if they can wear whatever they want they wouldn't spend money on a uniform. Uniforms are uncomfortable and kids will feel better about themselves. In summer it gets really hot in our uniforms so if we can wear what we want we could have singlets and shorts to our liking and I haven't even got to the shoes. The shoes uncomfortable and not sport worthy.

Why schooling should not be online

 Schools should not work at home.

I believe that we should not do schooling at home. How would you like it if you couldn't talk to your friends at school? Here are some of my reasons on why we shouldn't do home schooling full time…

You can get distracted and not do your work because you have the choice at home but if you were at school you have to do work.

You can talk to your friends because if you don't socialize you miss out on interacting with people and lose your communication skills.

The teachers and pairs at school can help you with your work in person.

That is why I believe that we should not do schooling at home.

That's why I think we should work at school. Sometimes it's good working from home but I prefer working from school. I find it hard to concentrate at home but I do get my work done.

Sweets at School

How good would it be if you can munch on a chocolate bar at eat times?

Well heres is why I beleive that we should be aloud sweets at school.

• First it gives you energy for the running round at lunchtimes and when you run round and lose energy you can go back to class and work better.
• When you use energy it makes you tired and you can have a better sleep.
• If we have a choice of what we eat at school it would make us happier.

Town Trip

Ki Ora Welcome to my blog this is my writing from when my class tumu went into town to go on a waka and search for Maori designs in the park and the feed the eels. Have you ever seen eels.

I hope you like my writing?

On May the 20th 2021 Tumu Hub went on a trip to the Margaret Mahy playground. We had four activity rotations including going on a Waka in Ōtakaro (Avon River) with Miss Hansen, A scavenger hunt to find designs with Mrs Carney, feeding the Eels  and looking at the Traditional Maori Mats with Mrs Bryce and exploring Victoria Square with Mrs Brown. 

My favourite part of the trip was the waka because we got to row the waka and when we were on the waka we learned alot about the history of the avon river.

Something I learnt was that there are more than 200 species of eels.

The thing I found the most interesting was that all the designs on the ground have meanings.

This trip has helped me with my PBL because I learned about how life was before me and all the history of christchurch. I think we could include some art of the eels in our school because that's what the Māori survived on in the early days. 

Te Reo

This week for Te Reo Maori we had to make a poster of a star that relates to you Waita relates to me because its about the ocean and looking after the sea creatures.

With Summer Temperatures regularly scoring to around 25 degrees. The worm Canterbury sun shines as yellow  as a sunflower petal. In winter the dove grey skies are a never ending raging Rhino, strongly framing.

Don't Just settle for any normal breakfast. Oh No! Come and try the Thick, delightful, crunchy, golden Toast Lathered in soft  Butter and Marmite. And to follow? Roughly sizzled Hotdogs and juicy beef patties squashed in two crispy buns.

Our goal for reading this week was to Make predictions about the text and look for clues to confirm predictions. We had to look at pictures of the story then make predictions then read the book and write down the predictions we got write. I got most of the right but some of them were hard we had to read stung and Treasure island.

Soar Chunk 3

 As: little, loose, Lukas springs over the blue travel bag with a pencil clutched in his arms, she thinks Mara is scary, but Mara just wanted to help. Lukas pulls the pencil above her head to threaten Mara. Mara pulls out her phone to take a quick shot of Lukas. Lukas drops the pencil and grasps onto the bag and drags it back to his aircraft, she drags her plane down from the tree but the propellers spin off. Lukas feels destroyed, she picks up one of the wings of the propeller and peers at Mara.

Every Friday Sharon and Mark come into tumu and teach about cybersmart. this week we were looking at other schools blogs and maps to find information about the other schools, we had to make a poster that compered the similar things of the other schools to the different things from the other school.

Dark Galaxy Town

Once upon a time in a dark galaxy town, there was a young boy called Bronson who loved exploring. So he decided to go for a walk around the town at 12:30pm. He grabbed his rain    jacket, his torch and his beanie and quietly sneaked out the door so his mum and dad don't wake up. Bronson has been walking around 30 minutes now and you're crossing the bridge of the lake in the town. No one really knows what is on the other side of the bridge because it's a long bridge and it’s really damaged. You walk over the bridge and walk through a mini forest to see a huge water with a huge bird flying over him. It was scaly and slimy and it sounded like a train horn. You walk up to it to give it a pat bit it refuses to come near you. You finally sneak up to him and give a little pat but it only lasted 10 seconds before he flies off again, but this time he didn't stop flying. He’s going and he's trying to catch up with him but he’s too fast you run and you run across the bridge up the hill to your house and see that the huge feathery beast was in your house holding your baby sister. You wake and realise it was a dream…..
